July 13, 2010 – Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam Berhad (BIBD) today held a blood donation at the 11th floor of its Headquarters in the Capital.

A total of 14 people consisting of a doctor, a nurse and 12 lab assistants from the Blood Donation Centre at the RIPAS Hospital were present to conduct the drive.

The aim of the event was to help patients who are in need of blood and help save lives. This is the third time for BIBD this year to organize such an event as it is one of the bank’s ways of giving back to community. It is also one of its social obligations.

At the end of the drive, 42 BIBD officers and staff donated a total of 18 litres and 900ml of blood.

With this, BIBD has indirectly helped patients who need blood especially accident victims, thalassaemia, cancer, chronic diseases, premature babies, patients with blood disorders as well as those who are about to undergo surgeries.
